Supported Events & Programs
UNIFY Waco serves as the umbrella organization that supports the programs and events of local public safety agencies by providing resources, funding, and community partnerships. While we are not the ones putting on these initiatives, we ensure they have the finances and backing needed to succeed. Through this support, we help create meaningful opportunities for connection between first responders and the community they serve, fostering trust, breaking down barriers, and strengthening relationships across Waco.

Our Public Safety Partners

Women In Public Safety Leadership Symposium
(WIPS)
WIPS is a dedicated space to empower, inspire, and connect women in public safety. Each year, the symposium focuses on advancing women in their careers by providing opportunities for growth, mentorship, and collaboration. By creating a strong and supportive network, it builds confidence, amplifies voices, and paves the way for future generations of women in public safety.

Community Opportunity Event (COE)
The purpose of the Community Opportunity Event (COE) is to provide a safe and supportive environment for youth of all ages while connecting them with valuable resources and information. The COE focuses on empowering young adults by offering access to life skills training, job opportunities, mentoring programs, mental and physical health resources, GED and higher education information, as well as scholarship and grant opportunities. This event is a collaborative effort between the police department and community stakeholders, united in their commitment to guide and equip our youth with the knowledge and support needed to make positive life choices.

The PD
Polar Express
The PD Polar Express is a holiday event designed for seniors in local community living centers who may not have family nearby during the season. Seniors are treated to a magical Polar Express–style experience complete with a festive bus ride, a warm holiday meal, gifts from Santa, and joyful fellowship.
Trunk or Treat
Trunk or Treat, hosted by Waco PD and Waco ISD PD, is a family-friendly Halloween event where officers and community partners decorate car trunks and hand out candy in a safe, fun environment. The event brings families together while building positive connections between public safety and the community.

Patrol Assistance
Patrol Assistance enables officers to provide immediate help to individuals they encounter while on patrol, whether that means covering a night’s stay for someone in crisis, replacing a stolen bike, offering a warm meal, or helping with transportation needs. Patrol Assistance allows patrol officers to act with compassion in real time, providing practical solutions that strengthen trust and demonstrate genuine care within the community.

Social Resource
Program
The Social Resource Program provides critical support to individuals in immediate need, helping bridge the gap between crisis and stability. Through this fund, public safety's social resource coordinator can assist with essentials such as clothing, food, temporary housing, transportation, and vital documentation like IDs and birth certificates.

Waco Fire Programs
The Waco Fire Program supports community outreach and engagement efforts led by the Waco Fire Department. Funds help strengthen relationships between firefighters and the community through safety education, public events, and initiatives that promote trust, preparedness, and connection.
